This week's exploration of the upper Midwest's many summer festivals brings us to Spooner, Wis. where they're celebrating the canoe.
Jed Malischke, executive director of the Canoe Heritage Museum in Spooner, joined MPR News' Tom Crann to talk about the festival.
Canoe Heritage Day takes place Saturday, May 24, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum in downtown Spooner. Aside from canoes, the event features live music, food and beer from Duluth's Bent Paddle Brewing.
Elsewhere around the region, Hastings kicks off its first-ever Rhubarb Festival at the LeDuc Historic Estate. And Hibbing will be celebrating Bob Dylan's birthday with Dylan Days.
