Obama administration proposes 30% cut in power plant carbon emissions

The Obama administration released a plan Monday that cuts power plant carbon dioxide emissions by nearly a third over the next 15 years.

The proposal also pushes the deadline for some states to comply until 2018, long after Obama leaves office.

It's a 645-page rule just released publicly, a centerpiece of Obama's plans to tackle climate change. David Thornton, assistant commissioner for air at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, joins The Daily Circuit to discuss the plan.
