The Minnesota State Patrol says that a semi driver caught on video as he illegally passed a stopped school bus -- on the right, at high speed -- has been identified.
State patrol spokesman Eric Roeske says a man called in and identified himself as the driver of the truck.
A camera on a school bus near Paynesville shows the truck speeding by even though the bus had its lights on and was displaying its stop arm. Authorities say the truck narrowly missed a girl about to board the bus for school on Friday morning.
The state patrol asked for help in identifying the driver. The incident happened on Highway 23. Roeske says the state patrol isn't identifying the driver because the matter is still under investigation.
