Sunfish Lake business executive Mike McFadden is challenging Sen. Al Franken in the November elections.

The first-time candidate says he can apply his business expertise to make the federal government more efficient and less intrusive. McFadden wants the Affordable Care Act repealed. He also says the federal government over-regulates business, holding back the economic recovery.

McFadden received the Republican Party's endorsement and exhibited an early ability in the campaign to raise money.

Mike McFadden joins The Daily Circuit to talk about his candidacy - and take listener questions.

MPR News has invited Sen. Al Franken to join The Daily Circuit, but he hasn't committed to a date.
