Bloomington police have identified the officers involved in an encounter with a man who was fatally shot last week.
They are:
• Jeff Bailey, 12 years as a Bloomington police officer
• Mike Perron, eight years
• Mike Smith, three years
• Anthony Kiehl, two years
Quincy Reed Reindl, 24, died of multiple gunshot wounds on Thursday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner said Sunday. Authorities have not said whether Reindl shot himself, or whether he was shot by police. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting.
All four officers were placed on paid administrative leave for three days, which is in line with department policy, said Deputy Chief Rick Hart of Bloomington police.
Reindl died just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 99th Street West and Nesbitt Avenue South. Police responded to the area on a report of a suicidal male.
