Fairview Health Services CEO Rulon Stacey will leave the company after just 15 months on the job.
The Fairview Board of Directors announced Tuesday that Stacey's final work day at the Minneapolis-based company will be March 1.
A spokesperson for the company said the decision was largely mutual, but didn't expand on the reasons for Stacey's departure.
"The board and Stacey cite a combination of professional differences and personal reasons as contributing to the CEO's departure," according to the board's statement.
Board chairman David Murphy said it's important that the board and management are both committed to implementing the same approach at the company, which has been working to integrate its academic and community operations.
While the board searches for a new CEO, three board members will run the company including Murphy, former chairman Chuck Mooty and University of Minnesota Medical School Dean Dr. Brooks Jackson.
Fairview Health Services is a nonprofit health company that's partnered with the University of Minnesota. The company employs 22,000 employees and is aligned with 2,300 physicians.
