Hopkins, Minn., native David Carr worked for The New York Times right up to the end. Last week he conducted what turned out to be his final interview in a "Times Talks" event, and died at the office later that evening. His memorial was held Tuesday in New York City.
Carr spoke via video-conference with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, and with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian, and filmmaker Laura Poitras. Her documentary about electronic surveillance, "Citizenfour," is nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary feature.
