Motorists, take note: Interstate 94 will close in both directions this weekend between Minnesota Highway 280 and Interstate 35E.
The closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday. All lanes and ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.
Xcel Energy is relocating power lines for the Snelling Avenue construction project that begins in May. The project will widen sidewalks and improve access to bus and light rail services on Snelling Avenue.
As part of the work, the Snelling Avenue bridge over I-94 is expected to close next month through August so crews can remove and replace the driving surface of the bridge and install new railing.
