A man turned himself in Thursday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a fisherman on the St. Croix River earlier this week, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Wisconsin authorities were looking for three men tied to the incident that happened late Tuesday.
Peter Kelly, a 34-year-old married father of five from Wisconsin, died after a brief fight that started with an argument between Kelly and men across the river, Polk County Sheriff Peter Johnson said. The men drove from the Minnesota side of the river to Interstate Park in Wisconsin, where Kelly was stabbed.
The suspect turned himself in at the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Balsam Lake, Wis., accompanied by his attorney, authorities said. Other men with him at the time of the stabbing also have been identified and interviewed.
The suspect, who is under arrest, is expected to make his initial court appearance Friday and the sheriff's office will identify him after that.
