The former Artists' Quarter jazz club will reopen July 14 as Vieux Carre.
The venue, which is in the basement of the Hamm Building in downtown St. Paul, will offer jazz, acoustic and other music Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Co-owner Lowell Pickett said after renovating the space, they've had a few trial runs, including during the recent Twin Cities Jazz Festival.
"We had a jam session after festival hours were over and it worked really well," Pickett said. "If anything, we tried to preserve the legacy and feel of the old space while making some modest improvements to it."
Pickett, who also co-owns the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, said Tuesday and Friday nights will be dedicated to jazz, with acoustic performances on Wednesdays. Thursdays and Saturdays will feature a variety of musical styles.
