Country superstar Luke Bryan is coming to Minneapolis in August, the first concert announced for the new Minnesota Vikings stadium.
Bryan will bring his "Kill the Lights Tour" to U.S. Bank Stadium Aug. 19, a few weeks after the building is expected to open for business. Officials says more bookings are coming and that there could be a high profile event before Bryan, who was named Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year in November.
"We've done a lot of work on acoustical treatments to make it a good concert venue," Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen said. "The Metrodome was never designed that way, and they never spent any time or money or thought about the sound and acoustics in the Metrodome. So I think from that standpoint, it will definitely be a better venue."
Bryan Kelm-Helgen said other announcements will be coming in as the stadium construction wraps up.
