Law enforcement officials say the remains of Jacob Wetterling have been found in a rural area just outside Paynesville, Minn.
That's about 30 miles from where the 11-year old boy was abducted in 1989.
Paynesville is where Danny Heinrich, a suspect in the case, was living at the time of Wetterling's disappearance. Heinrich, who is in custody on unrelated child pornography charges, led authorities to the remains.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Jeff Thompson, the longtime mayor of Paynesville.
