Cloud cover and rain showers push eastward for Saturday night. Clearing skies will give way to sunshine for Sunday as high temperatures return to the 80s. A repeated pattern of above-average temperatures continue for the work week.
Pioneering ballerina Michaela DePrince dies at 29
DePrince, born in Sierra Leone, lost both her parents during the country’s civil war. She became the youngest principal dancer at the Dance Theatre of Harlem and later joined the Boston Ballet.

Napheesa Collier scored 20 points, and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 83-66 for their fifth straight victory. Collier also grabbed eight rebounds for Minnesota, which has won 12 of 13 overall.
Israel strikes Gaza as an American activist killed by Israeli fire is buried
Israeli airstrikes have hit central and southern Gaza and killed at least 14 people as friends and family members of a Turkish-American activist killed by an Israeli soldier buried her in Turkey. 
Minneapolis street named after community leader Bernadette Anderson
Bernadette Anderson Way now runs along Russell Avenue North between Plymouth Avenue North and 12th Avenue North. Anderson, who died in 2003, lived in the 1200 block of Russell.
Youth Mental Health panel talks cell phone bans, rural needs
The Minnesota Department of Health said 89 percent of rural physicians are providing some type of mental health services. The report also noted that in some cases behavioral health is integrated into primary care clinic settings. However, there are also gaps in coverage.
