A “timeless and enduring blue hue” and “elegant in its simplicity,” known as Classic Blue, was named Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2020.
Industries and others across the country – from fashion and design to marketing and even consumers – closely watched as the color company announced its choice.
It’s the type of blue you see on a Pepsi can. It’s deeper than a sky blue. It’s familiar, nonaggressive and maybe even calming.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, where she oversees the annual color search, spoke with MPR News host Angela Davis about the color, the emotion it evokes and what it takes to find the color of the year.
