The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) hired pediatrician Dr. Nathan Chomilo in December as the state’s medical director for Medicaid.
Medicaid provides health care coverage to about 1.1 million low-income Minnesotans.
Chomilo is a Twin Cities pediatrician and internist who advocates for the power of play and has challenged leaders to address the racial disparities seen in Minnesota’s schools.
