Minnesota lawmakers have unfinished business

The legislative process is one of the many systems that has been disrupted by the pandemic. Hearings, votes and negotiations were all made more difficult because of social distancing restrictions. The regular session of the Minnesota Legislature ended May 17 with a lot of unfinished business. A bonding bill for construction projects is still in the works and a budget deficit is looming. Some of that could be addressed in a special session that will likely happen in June.
