Demonstrations over the death of George Floyd turned destructive Wednesday night, with fires, looting and a shooting death that is under investigation.
Floyd, a black man, told officers he couldn’t breathe as a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck Monday night. He later died and four officers have been fired.
MPR News host Kerri Miller talked about the crisis with a panel of journalists, officials and researchers who study the relationship between police and black communities.
