Mother and daughter on vaccination, living together during pandemic

Minnesota health officials say it will take until the end of January to inoculate all health care workers and nursing home residents in the first priority group for the coronavirus vaccine. Still, more than 100,000 Minnesotans have already been vaccinated against the virus.

Among them is 73-year-old Judy Olson of St. Paul. Olson is Native American, and received her vaccine this week through the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis.

Olson lives in a senior housing complex, but has been staying with her daughter, Melissa, since a recent outbreak at the facility. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Melissa and Judy Olson about Judy’s vaccination, and their experience in the pandemic.
