After 14 months of spending almost every waking minute inside the same four walls, many homeowners are looking for ways to make their space fit their new reality.

Open floor plans are out, in favor of dedicated spaces for remote work and education. Yards are being transformed into outdoor rooms, complete with kitchens, fire pits and — for the lucky few — pools.

At the same time, increased demand for home remodeling has led to growing prices and long waits. Spending on home repairs and improvements actually rose more than 3 percent last year, despite the recession.

Are you dreaming about a few fixes to your space? Friday, Brad and Heather Fox, our favorite decorating duo, joined MPR News host Kerri Miller to answer your renovation questions.
