Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter is charged with first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright last April. Her trial is scheduled to begin November 30.
In a new filing, her defense team says Potter may argue her use of the gun was an "innocent accident" or an "innocent mistake." Prosecutors have said they plan to introduce evidence from other encounters with civilians that show Potter knew the correct way to draw her Taser.
