The 2022 legislative session at the Minnesota Capitol has gaveled to order. There's a lot to do this session, and most of it revolves around money, even though this isn't a budget session, because the state has a $7.7 billion budget surplus.

MPR News talked with Republican Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller and DFL Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, and politics reporter Brian Bakst joined host Cathy Wurzer to analyze messaging from Miller and Hortman, parsing through the list of hot issues they intend to take on.
