President Joe Biden’s recent debate performance continues to raise questions about his mental sharpness. MPR News host Angela Davis talked with a doctor who specializes in aging as well as a political analyst about the kinds of changes to cognitive skills that are typically age-related versus symptoms of something more serious. They explored possible next steps for Biden’s re-election bid.

Guests:

  • Dr. Jim Pacala is professor and head of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He is a past president of the American Geriatrics Society and co-author of the society’s handbook, “Geriatrics at Your Fingertips.”
