The Democratic National Convention gets underway Monday in Chicago. With Gov. Tim Walz as Kamala Harris' vice presidential candidate, the Minnesota delegation will get preferred seating and a lot more attention than it otherwise would.
And Hennepin County Commissioners are planning to take a vote Tuesday on a more modest pay increase after public criticism of its previously proposed 49 percent pay bump. Commissioners are now proposing to increase their own salaries by five percent for each of the next two years.
