Severe storms roll across Minnesota. St. Paul building renamed after fallen officer

A line of severe storms Monday night downed trees, dropped torrential rain and knocked out power to more than 100,000 homes and businesses across a wide swath of southern and central Minnesota, the Twin Cities area and western Wisconsin.

And the St. Paul Police Department unveiled the updated entrance to the Eastern District building — now known as the Ron Ryan Jr. Eastern District, honoring the officer shot and killed in the line of duty 30 years ago.
