Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Rates are still at an all-time high coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

So, what can we do?

On Wednesday, MPR News host Angela Davis will be joined by two guests who are passionate about educating people about suicide prevention. They aim to help all of us learn how to recognize signs of depression and be a resource for those who are struggling with thoughts of ending their own life.

And we want to hear from you, too.

Have you lost someone close to you to suicide? Are you personally struggling with suicidal thoughts? Or maybe, you’re a friend, family member or caregiver trying to support a loved one who’s at risk for suicide.

Call us during the 9 a.m. hour at 651-227-6000 or 800-242-2828.

Guest:

If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone. Call or text 988 to get connected with trained counselors who can help. The 988 suicide and crisis lifeline is available 24/7.
