After a three-week trial, a jury found Adam Fravel guilty of four charges for the murder of Madeline Kingsbury. Kingsbury was the mother of Fravel's children. The case attracted national attention and was moved from Winona to Mankato as a result.

And Democrats are assessing their party’s poor showing in Tuesday’s election. That includes a further erosion of support for Democratic candidates in rural areas.
