Coming up at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, MPR News host Angela Davis revisits a conversation with two doctors who help us understand what good gut health looks like and how you can make your digestive system as healthy as possible.

Dr. Alexander Khoruts is a gastroenterologist and professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He sees patients and he conducts research related to the gut microbiome — the community of microbes that live in our gastrointestinal tract. He directs the University of Minnesota’s Microbiota Therapeutics Program, which develops new treatments that involve restoring the microbiome after it’s been damaged by antibiotics.
Dr. Xiao Jing (Iris) Wang is a gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She is also the author of “Boo Can’t Poo,” a book she wrote to help kids learn how to prevent and manage constipation.
