Stephanie Hemphill reported on environmental issues for MPR News. She was a reporter for Minnesota Public Radio from 2000-2013, first working out of the Duluth bureau and then in St. Paul. She covered resource issues, water quality, and climate change, with a concentration on energy policy. She has reported for National Public Radio, the Great Lakes Radio Consortium, and other regional and national outlets. She has received numerous awards from state and regional journalism organizations.
