Some big stars will be in St. Paul Wednesday night, when the movie version of "A Prairie Home Companion" has its local premiere. The film will be shown at St. Paul's Fitzgerald Theater, where most of it was shot.
The movie was directed by Robert Altman and written by Garrison Keillor. It's based on Keillor's popular radio show of the same name, and features a cast of famous actors, including Meryl Streep, Lindsay Lohan and Woody Harrelson.
"A Prairie Home Companion" opens in general release on June 9. MPR's Cathy Wurzer asked Colin Covert, film critic for the Star Tribune, how he liked the movie.
