Minnesota musician Peter Ostroushko is a favorite among public radio audiences in general. His music and mandolin playing spans many genres -- from folk to country to jazz.
Ostroushko's new CD, "Postcards," features original tunes he wrote on the road while traveling with the "A Prairie Home Companion" crew, and its host Garrison Keillor. The CD is a collection of musical snapshots that captures the spirit of America's cities and small towns.
Ostroushko says the inspiration came from none other than Garrison Keillor himself. He spoke with MPR's Greta Cunningham.
