Ramsey County prosecutor moves toward 2010 run for governor

(AP) - Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner set a 2010 campaign for governor in motion by registering a campaign committee with state regulators.
Gaertner filed paperwork last week that allows her to raise and spend money as she seeks the Democratic nomination for the state's top political office.
In January, Gaertner revealed that she was sizing up a run for governor. She was recently elected to her fourth term as chief prosecutor in the state's second-biggest county.
No other Democrats have registered campaign committees for the 2010 gubernatorial campaign. The DFL Party hasn't won the office since 1986.
Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty hasn't said whether he'll seek a third term.
