April 23-29, 2007 is National Turn off the TV Week, according to the Center for Screen-time awareness. Its goal is to cut down on the isolation and noise that TV's create.
Until a few weeks ago, commentator Gordon Stewart had forgotten how *noisy* the world can be. Then, he got hearing aids.
There's a lot he enjoys being able to hear, but plenty he didn't miss at all.
