There are hundreds of medical and scientific journals around the world covering specific disciplines in exhaustive detail. It is notable this month that more than 200 of those journals joined together to cover a single topic.
"Poverty and human development" is the simultaneous focus of the current issue of an unprecedented 235 journals from around the globe. Each takes its own look at the complex topic.
Dr. Jon Hallberg, a physician in family practice at the U of M and the regular medical analyst on All Things Considered, joined host Tom Crann to talk more about what it means to have such a strong focus on one topic.
