State public safety public officials say law enforcement agencies arrested more than 3,300 drivers for drunk driving last month.
The drivers had an average alcohol-concentration of .17, more than twice the legal limit.
Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety spokeswoman, Cheri Marti, says most of the arrests were in the Twin Cities with Minneapolis and St. Paul 110 and 78 DWIs respectively.
In Greater Minnesota, Marti says Wright county, Rochester and St. Cloud were all very strong leaders in those DWI arrests.
The number of impaired drivers cited during December was about the same number as in December of 2006.
Preliminary totals for 2007 show about 37,000 drivers were arrested for DWI all year.
