Filmmaker Esther Robinson never knew her uncle Danny. He disappeared in 1966, and her family never spoke of him. Then, one day, her grandmother blurted out that Danny had worked at Andy Warhol's Factory and was, for a time, Warhol's live-in boyfriend.
Intrigued, and a bit confused, Robinson set out to reconstruct the life of her uncle. Her documentary "A Walk Into the Sea: Danny Williams and The Warhol Factory" explores Danny's career and the role his involvement in the ultra-competitive Factory scene might have played in his still-unsolved disappearance.
Host Mary Lucia talks with Minneapolis native Esther Robinson about love, family, identity and the fallibility of memory.
