A day before the Wisconsin presidential primary, Republican candidate Mike Huckabee made a campaign stop this morning in Hudson, Wis.
More than one hundred supporters packed a coffee and bagel shop to meet Huckabee. The former Arkansas governor trails GOP front-runner John McCain, but Huckabee's conservative supporters say they want him to stay in the campaign. Huckabee says he hears their message.
"It really does come down to whether or not the people in Wisconsin, in Texas, in Ohio, in Pennsylvania, in North Carolina and Nebraska, whether we think their votes matter . Or whether we want to just shut them out of the entire process and let people in New York and California make the decision as to who the Republican nominee is before we ever get to Wisconsin," Huckabee told the gathered supporters.
Huckabee had pre-primary rallies planned in Eau Claire and Appleton as well.
John McCain also planned to stop in Appleton.
Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have their own campaign events scheduled in Wisconsin.
