Northeastern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin are bracing for another spring storm that could bring a foot or more of new snow by Friday night.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch for the Twin Ports area early Wednesday for Thursday evening through Friday evening.
The watch covers Carlton and southern St. Louis counties in Minnesota and Douglas County in northern Wisconsin.
The storm is expected to bring heavy snow to the area and winds gusting from 40 mph to 50 mph. Parts of the North Shore can expect whiteout conditions.
Earlier this week, another storm moved through northeastern Minnesota. It dropped more than 2 feet of snow in many places.
Much of the state is expected to get some snow in the new storm, but the only blizzard warning is for the Duluth area.
