A Kenyan who runs with a club in New Mexico is this year's winner of Grandma's Marathon in Duluth.
Lamech Mokono outran fellow Kenyan David Tuwei to win his first Grandma's Marathon title. Mokono, who runs with AmeriKenyan Running Club in Santa Fe, New Mexico, had an unofficial time of 2 hours, 13 minutes, 39 seconds.
Kenyan Benson Cheruiyot finished third in the men's race.
Mary Akor of Hawthorne, Calif., has won the women's marathon for the second year in a row. Her unofficial time was listed at 2 hours, 38 minutes, 52 seconds, which is more than three minutes slower than her winning time last year.
