The Guthrie Theater says it is extending the run of a new musical version of "Little House on the Prairie" by two weeks, because of high ticket demand.
The world premiere production originally was scheduled to close on October 5. The final performance is now set for Sunday, October 19.
The musical is based on the "Little House" books of Laura Ingalls Wilder about her homesteading family. Actress Melissa Gilbert will play the mother of the character she played in the 1970s "Little House" television series.
Tickets for the additional two weeks of performances range from $34 to $65 and go on sale Friday.
"Little House" begins previews Saturday. Opening night is August 15.
