In less than five months, a major change is coming in the way many of us view television. Stations across the nation will change the way they beam their signals into our homes. If you still receive your TV signal with an antenna, rather than cable or satellite, and do not own a newer-model digital TV, you need to upgrade your equipment to receive the new digital signals.
As the deadline looms, federal officials are preparing for any glitches with the technology. Toward that end, Wilmington, North Carolina is serving as a test market. The 135th largest television market in the U.S. made the switch to digital last week.
Ashley Dos Santos is a spokesperson for the National Association of Broadcasters. She joined Tom Crann from Washington to talk about the changes in TV service.
