About 50 people attended a town hall meeting in Albert Lea tonight, to talk about alleged abuse of residents at Good Samaritan Society nursing home.
Several people say they are saddened by the situation, including Jan Reshatar, the daughter-in-law of one of the alleged victims.
Reshatar says abuse should be the last thing families have to worry about. She says her family will keep her mother in-law at Good Samaritan, because most of the staff are excellent.
The allegations center on six nursing assistants, who allegedly spit in the mouths of residents with dementia, poked their breasts and touched their genitals. Two female aides now face criminal abuse and assault charges; four others were charged as juveniles for not reporting the alleged abuse.
