Kellogg is recalling 16 products as federal officials continue to try and pinpoint the cause of a nationwide salmonella outbreak.
Federal officials have confirmed salmonella contamination at a Georgia facility that ships peanut products to 85 food companies. More tests are needed to see if it matches the strain that has made hundreds of people in 43 states sick. At least six people have died, including two in Minnesota.
The Kellogg recall includes Austin and Keebler branded Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers, as well as some snack-size packs of Famous Amos Peanut Butter Cookies and Keebler Soft Batch Homestyle Peanut Butter Cookies.
A peanut grower is also being looked at, raising the possibility that contamination may have occurred before peanuts reached the processing plant.
