National Public Radio correspondent Tom Gjelten discusses the national security challenges facing the Obama administration.

Gjelten reports for NPR on defense policy, military affairs, terrorism, and espionage. He has covered the wars in Central and South America, the Persian Gulf, and Croatia and Bosnia. He also reported on the transition to democracy and capitalism in Eastern Europe and the break-up of the Soviet Union.

Gjelten is the author of several books, including his latest, "Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba: A Biography of a Cause."

He spoke before an audience at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
