Universities around Minnesota are cancelling their study abroad programs in Mexico as a result of the swine flu outbreak.
The University of Minnesota, St. Cloud State University, Minnesota State University, Mankato and the University of Minnesota, Duluth are all cancelling their study abroad programs in Mexico because of the swine flu.
U of M and Minnesota State are asking students currently studying in Mexico to return immediately to avoid the disease. So far, the influenza virus has killed 150 people in Mexico.
Twenty-one University of Minnesota students are in Mexico currently. Minnesota State, Mankato has another three students there.

23 students from Augsburg College who are studying in Mexico plan to stay through the end of the semester. Augsburg officials say the students are in the state of Morelos where only four cases of swine flu have been reported.

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire announced Tuesday that it was cancelling its study abroad trip to Mexico, which was scheduled for late May.
