Ten same-sex couples from Minnesota are heading to Iowa where they hope to get married.
The couples, along with their pastors and friends, left Sunday afternoon from All God's Children Church in south Minneapolis. The couples plan to be married today in Davenport, Iowa.
Iowa started issuing marriage licenses to gay couples last week. Last month, the Iowa Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling that rejected a state law restricting marriage to a union between a man and woman.
For the couples heading to Iowa, the marriages won't be legal when they get back to Minnesota, a state which only recognizes marriage between a man and a woman.
The couples are getting married at a sister church of All God's Children in Davenport. ---
