"Far from the Mountains" is a 1993 documentary that follows the story of one of the 1,000 Tibetans resettling in the United States in the early 1990s.
Minneapolis had one of the largest Tibetan populations in the United States at the time -- 185 people.
The program features archival audio from 1949 with the first Western journalists to broadcast from this isolated country in the Himalayas.
