What kind of musical smoothie do you get when you combine classical, bluegrass and jazz music in a blender? The Orange Mighty Trio would be the result. They're a Twin Cities ensemble with diverse musical backgrounds. They have classical and jazz training and an interest in combining all of that with improvisation and traditional "string sawing" for something that's been called "bluegrassical" music.
The Orange Mighty Trio is made up of Zack Kline (violin), Mike Vasich (piano) and Nick Gaudette (bass). They have just released a CD titled, "Infrastructure". They stopped in the Radio Heartland studio to perform music from the album.
Songs performed: "The Long Zoom", "The Waltz of the Traffic Patterns" and "Infrastructure"
