Minneapolis police ruled today that the death of a 7-week-old boy on July 4 was a homicide.
Police responded to a "baby not breathing" call in the 2500 block of Golden Valley Road in the early morning on July 4.
The infant was transported to the North Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short while later. The Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office ruled yesterday that the infant died of "blunt force abdominal trauma."
Officials declined to say whether there are any suspects.
"The investigators are releasing very little about this case right now," said Sgt. Jesse Garcia, spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department.
