Sections of I-94 and I-35W to close this weekend

Portions of both I-94 and I-35W will be closed this weekend for construction and maintenance work.
All westbound lanes of I-94 between I-394 and I-694 in Minneapolis will close from 10 p.m., Friday, July 31 through 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3, according to MnDOT. Maintenance crews will prep and paint overpasses at Broadway Avenue, 26th Avenue, 41st Avenue, 42nd Avenue and the Soo Line Railroad.
Motorists are advised use I-394 west to Highway 100, then north to I-94 west. The exit to Olson Memorial Highway will remain open.
The northbound lanes of I-35W between Highway 13 and I-494 will also close from 10 p.m., Friday, July 31 through 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3. All northbound ramps on I-35W in the same stretch will be closed.
Motorists will be rerouted to I-35E north to Highway 77; north to Highway 62; west to I-35W.
Crews will be repairing the northbound lanes.
