Word on the street is that Rachel Stassen-Berger, who covers the Minnesota Capitol for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, is crossing the (metaphorical) river to do the same duty for the Star Tribune.
In addition to her work in the paper Stassen-Berger has been a key contributor to The PiPress's blog the Political Animal.
No word yet on her replacement at the Pioneer.
It seems like this kind of thing used to happen all the time, but not so much recently as the papers have hit hard times. Star Tribune political reporter Pat Lopez recently got the job as the paper's politics editor, which created an opening on the reporting staff.
